As far as belt noise, check the postings down the list for infomation on proper adjustment and allignment.
Harly Davidson sells a belt dressing, but I never needed any dressing and my belt does not squeak.
I must mention that my sadle bags once pushed hard against the bag supports, causing the bag supports to push against the chain guard.
What I am trying to say is that the chain guard got bent and rubbed the belt pulley (causing a noise)!!
My Savage does not need an oil top up in over 2000 miles.
